When the channeling ritual is performed, mana is permanently transferred from one statue to another. A statue must surrender all of their mana to empower the other.
Statues which have channeled their mana to others become artifacts of their sacrifice in this performance act celebrating the merge.
Opportunities after the Merge to acquire mana are few and far between, channeling mana is the main means to acquiring more mana to perform other rituals with. If a statue requires more mana to perform a ritual, channeling mana from another statue will provide the necessary mana.
Mana from the channeling statue will be set to zero and the receiving statue will have mana added.
Since channeled statues have zero mana, no mana wisps will be seen in the background of the statue.
No, each statue can only channel once, to one statue. Once the ritual is performed, the mana can not be taken back.
Yes, utilize many statues as 'mana batteries' to charge up one statue with the requisite mana to perform rituals.
Usable mana is the sum of inherent + boosted + channeled mana. Channeling mana does NOT redirect mana channeled to itself. Only inherent + boosted mana can be channeled.
To illustrate:
Statue A channels to Statue B
Statue B channels to Statue C
Statue A will have zero usable mana because it has channeled AND no other statue is channeling toward A.
Statue B will have mana channeled from Statue A, since B can only channel its own mana to C.
Statue C will have mana from B and its own inherent + boosted mana since it hasn't performed the channeling ritual.
Mana is not a ERC-20 construct; it is simply a numerical character stat of each statue. Mana can not be sold, transferred, or burnt like a ERC-20 as it is not compliant to that standard. Rituals simply alter the character stats of statues and do not perform any transfers of assets.
